Blackscour

From PathfinderWiki

Blackscour mushrooms are a rare flora that most commonly grows deep in the earth around swampy pools. Eating any part of the blackscour mushroom subjects the diner to a disease called blackscour taint.1 This disease can also be contracted by drinking the water in which blackscour mushrooms have grown.2 Some underground ancestries supposedly cultivate these mushrooms, although it is not known why1 since there is no known beneficial use for blackscour.3

Appearance

Blackscour mushrooms are short and fat, with a black cap covered with small white spots. They smells like a rotting corpse and taste bitter.1

Known locations

Blackscour mushrooms most commonly grow underground,1 though an above-ground patch was found in Darkmoon Vale12 that rumors suggest was forced to the surface by kobolds living in the dwarven ruins of Droskar's Crag.1
