Bransen Waike
Sir Bransen Waike was the regent of the kingdom of Artume, a small realm centered around the city of Artume located on the Sellen River of the River Kingdoms.1
History
Bransen Waike was elevated to this position in 4690 AR by Queen Sovella Artume.2 A veteran of the Mendevian Crusades, he was entrusted with this position until the Queen could give birth to her son Edryd. Turning his back on his oath as a paladin, Waike unsuccessfully tried to have Sovella assassinated, blamed the attempt on the nearby city of Daggermark, and started ruling Artume like a thuggish kleptocracy.1
Sovella and her infant son survived Waike's assassination attempts and fled to Everbloom, a Milanite monastery,13 and covertly led a long-simmering rebellion against Waike. This culminated at some point between 4710 AR and 4719 AR in a revolution led by locals and the monks of Milani who sheltered Sovella and Edryd. Edryd was by then an adult and succeeded Waike as Artume's leader.3
