Category talk:Elf/Ethnicities

Superseded discussion re category name, moved from now deleted Category:Elf/Subraces

Hello User:Brandingopportunity, I'm uncomfortable with this new category but interested in why you created it. Is 'subrace' a canon term? Paizo use 'ethnicity' for humans - would that be a better term? Further, I am unsure we need such a category, though, as Category:Elf already pulls in all the different elf types and yet another category may be confusing. --Fleanetha (talk) 00:11, 23 November 2013 (UTC)

Paizo used the classic D&D elf subraces in 3.5 (gray elf, wild elf, etc.), but stopped making reference to them in PFRPG. Now they're treated as merely different ethnicities, with the exception of the aquatic elves and drow, and "subrace" is no longer used. --Filby (talk) 07:10, 23 November 2013 (UTC)
