Category talk:Nations of the Crown of the World
Article Discussion
Hi User:Filby - major task started well done and looking forward to its completion. Minor point: we already have a structure under Category:Crown of the World including Category:Nations of Crown of the World which you could use. However, in generating this page you do raise the question of whether 'the' be included in the title of the continent. I have amended this page so it is consistent if we decide to keep it and delete the other, but we need to make a decision for 'the' or not 'the' and carry on from there. My view is we should lose the 'the'. ISWC definitely has a title of 'Crown of the World' as do some of the titles in the latest Pathfinder 51 article. Rarely, however, is the continent mentioned without the definite article. Under PathfinderWiki talk:Naming conventions it looks like the discussion of 'The' is still under debate. --Fleanetha 10:04, 29 October 2011 (UTC)
- Yeah, I added the category impulsively without looking for an existing category. I would agree that using the category without "the" in it would be better. I'd favor just deleting the category I created.--Filby 18:25, 29 October 2011 (UTC)
- Official Paizo style on this is that "the" always precedes Crown of the World, in the same way you would say "nations of the arctic" not "nations of arctic". As such, I think we should use this category name in place of the alternative without the "the."—Yoda8myhead 18:06, 2 November 2011 (UTC)
- I have corrected this then in all affected areas. Apologies to Filby for messing up his initial work. I am copying below the contents of the Talk page that will be deleted so we have this whole discussion in one place: --Fleanetha 10:51, 3 November 2011 (UTC)

Name change (from the Talk Page of Category:Nations of Crown of the World)
Shouldn't this be "Nations of the Crown of the World"? --Brandingopportunity 16:04, 2 November 2011 (UTC)
- Possibly, though personally I don't think so - have a look here for the debate so far: Category talk:Nations of the Crown of the World. We'd appreciate your input.--Fleanetha 16:58, 2 November 2011 (UTC)
- As I posted in the other thread, Paizo style is to always use "the" before Crown of the World when used in anything other than a list of continents. We wouldn't need to add "the" to other Crown-related categories, but for anything that is XXX of [the] Crown of the World, we should.—Yoda8myhead 18:08, 2 November 2011 (UTC)
