Hroku is a peryton associated with a band of trolls living in a lodge on the Little Thunder River near Averaka. The band's underchief Shrakas believes Hroku is bound in allegiance to him, but the peryton is mostly fascinated with how the troll's heart regenerated within minutes of her eating it.
