Kamar was one of the leaders of an ancient Zenj clan who fled the savannas of the Mwangi Expanse during the Age of Darkness. In the aftermath of the Earthfall, amongst all the other endless destruction, drought ravaged the savannas of the Mwangi Expanse. Facing starvation, Kamar and her sister, the healer Jahar, led their clan north, into the jungles of the Mwangi Expanse. Through her druidic communion with the land, Kamar eventually led her people to meet the ancient arboreal Dimari-Diji in -3300 AR. Together Kamar, Jahar and Dimari-Diji agreed a pact which would allow the Zenj clan to settle within Dimari-Diji's section of the forest, in exchange they would assist the arboreal in keeping guard over the Nemesis Well, thus founding the hidden city of Osibu.
