Magnesium is an extremely light and reactive metal that burns brightly when exposed to air. It is a vital element for all living things, especially plants. In purified form as an alchemical reagent, magnesium is used in alchemical recipes. As an alchemical power component it is associated with boosting the effectiveness of transmutation spells. One dose of magnesium costs one gold piece.
