The section also provides player characters the option of capturing Du Moire alive and negotiating with him. Du Moire's potential outcomes depend on player actions, and no subsequent canon work mentions Du Moire or confirms a specific outcome to the scenario.

Because the statblock suggests Du Moire is likely killed even if the player characters do not kill him, his death is therefore exceptionally assumed to be at the same time as the events of The Hydra's Fang Incident.
