Meta:Schools of magic

From PathfinderWiki

Legacy content

The eight schools of magic were mechanical concepts created for another game and used in the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game through the Open Game License. The Pathfinder Second Edition Remaster Project relicensed Pathfinder under the Open RPG Creative License, making the schools of magic no longer available for use in canon works.1 Terms for the schools of magic were not retroactively removed from the Pathfinder campaign setting.2 -Oznogon (talk) 01:28, 11 September 2024 (UTC)

"And since the remaster had to abandon the model of having magic organized into 8 schools, the process of making rules for Thassilonian specialists and Runelord archetypes in the remastered game is one of the MOST complicated things we have to convert between the two..." 2. "Nothing about the lore we've created for Pathfinder or Golarion changes in the remaster, even though some of it has to be recontextualized. There's still divination magic in the game, it's just not a game-term. It's a plain old word term." James Jacobs. (February 20, 2024).
