Nai Hu Buo
Emperor Nai Hu Buo (pronounced nai hoo bu-oh)1 served as ruler of Goka until his death in 7210 IC in the middle of his 25-year term. His granddaughter, whom he raised, is Nai Yan Fei; she fought a legal battle to inherit his title, and as of 7224 IC remains a popular Empress of Goka.2
Background
Nai Hu Buo's children were killed while on a diplomatic mission in a scheme by rival Gokan nobles in the Yun-Ta clan, leading to him raising two-year-old Nai Yan Fei, their daughter and thus his granddaughter, while serving as Emperor of Goka. He trained her in the courtly arts while ensuring she was trained in combat by the Butterfly Blades. After ten years, Hu Buo, satisfied with Yan Fei's skill, returned to politics and shortly after won a third term as emperor of Goka.3
Hu Buo died in office in 7210 IC, and Yan Fei forced the parliament to name her Empress and let her serve the rest of her grandfather's term, citing an obscure law that allows the position to be inherited. She has enacted many reforms in the city of Goka, with an eye towards the lower classes, and is likely to win the next election when the time comes.3
