Nhur Athemon is a long-dead exiled noble of the Azlanti empire who was responsible for founding an Azlanti settlement in the Echo Wood over 10,000 years ago. He was a wizard-lord and a devotee of the demon lord Abraxas. After building a sizable stronghold, he was eventually hunted down and slain by Azlanti forces. Despite this, a complex of tunnels underneath his stronghold were overlooked by his hunters and have survived to present day under the town of Thornkeep.

Nhur Athemon had three powerful apprentices: Vuzhon the enchantress, Daegros the conjurer, and Togarin the necromancer.
