The Order of Yllaldo is a monastic order based in Yllaldo Castle, a keep in southern Xopatl that the legendary Arcadian hero-god Yllaldo guarded until his death near the end of the Age of Darkness.

History

Yllaldo built and guarded a keep, and the tunnels beneath it, near the town of Tapláche from which he watched for threats from neighboring Nalmeras. He maintained this duty until he died near the end of the Age of Darkness. After his death, citizens of Xopatl moved into the keep and renamed it Yllaldo Castle.

Ownership changed hands repeatedly over the centuries, with the monastic Order of Yllaldo most recently taking control in 4608 AR. The original purpose of the tunnels and keep have long since been forgotten.

Recent events

At some point ca. 4722 AR, a bulette attack collapsed a wall of a sealed chamber in the keep's tunnels. This exposed the unmaking note of Nolimarthos' jawbone—a relic of Yllaldo's greatest conquest, which he was unable to destroy—to the world, degrading the magical wards that secured it and empowering those who lived near the keep, with some dying from their inability to control these supernatural forces. This led to the Order activating a beacon to signal for aid from the Dark Archive of the Pathfinder Society.

Members

Head Monk Edibaro Jolínarez leads the order. Other members include the warrior monks Ximena and Adabero.

Sites

The Order has lived in and maintained Yllaldo Castle since 4608 AR, and in the process have built out parts of the tunnels beneath the keep to serve as storage rooms, living quarters, libraries, burial chambers, and other functions.
