PathfinderWiki talk:2E trait box inclusion initiative
How to handle archetypes?
How should we handle archetypes, if at all, on the Pathfinder Wiki?
- archetypes were pretty much ignored in 1st edition (not necessarily correctly) on the wiki and are different from, though similar to 2e archetypes
- 1e archetypes were on the whole understandable in-world, so were noted and likely have a place on the wiki
- many prestige classes, and even classes, in 1e became archetypes in 2e
Practicalities:
- Do they need an ib?
- what would be in the ib?
- Should we have an infobox? How would it be structured?
- How categorise them? We have already a Category:Archetypes but should we distinguish 1e and 2e?
- How handle 2e archetypes that ware 1e classes or PrCs?
- How cope with the feat-based mechanic when the wiki does not handle feats?
- Other factors?
Please comment below with suggestions, thoughts, other positives or negatives, other considerations we need to handle. --Fleanetha (talk) 07:26, 8 November 2022 (UTC)
For me, 1e archetypes were more like 2e subclasses and some had restriction.--Laclale (talk) 07:35, 8 November 2022 (UTC)
- Mostly I don't think we need to put archetypes on the Wiki, especially since only PCs can have them now. CadeHerrig (talk) 06:47, 11 November 2022 (UTC)
- Agree for 1e's archetype, but 2e's archetype has faction-themed one which is written in NPC's stat block.--Laclale (talk) 09:56, 11 November 2022 (UTC)
