A pharmakos is a foul, sore-covered, worm-like aberration with a deformed man's torso, transformed by an evil deity from a worshipper that has greatly displeased them. The pharmakos is constantly wracked with pain, and can never die unless killed by others. Most deities care little that a pharmakos can serve them as a powerful guardian, and only begin their true punishment when its wretched life ends.
