- This article covers the Pathfinder First Edition family of spells. For the Pathfinder Second Edition ritual originally of the same name, see binding circle.
The planar binding family of spells calls an unwilling outsider from its planar home in the Great Beyond to the Universe via conjuration magic. The spellcaster can then attempt to trap it in a previously prepared magic circle and convince or force it to perform a task for them in return for its freedom.1
