Saltbeard is a foul-mouthed male triton who directly serves Gozreh, the god of storms and waves, as a divine emissary. Saltbeard has a large white beard and temper almost as foul as the language he uses. He delights in using his trident to ensnare the ships of mortals in ice, then stabbing the ship's sailors when they descend to try to free their ship from its icy prison. His favourite tribute from those seeking his divine help is hot rum.

The Hermitage of Blessed Lightning northwest of Abberton on the Isle of Erran features a statue of Saltbeard.
