Shasthaak was a rune giant particularly loyal to the runelords, who chose him to assassinate First King Xin. He was teleported into Xin's Crystal Palace and wreaked havoc, but as Shasthaak struck the killing blow, Xin pulled out a shard of the Sihedron, resulting in an explosion that annihilated himself, Shasthaak, and his palace alike. Shasthaak's soul remained, neither dead nor undead, still determined to kill Xin.
