A skeletal champion is an undead skeleton that retains its intelligence from life. Skeletal champions are far more cunning, formidable, and powerful than common, mindless skeletons. Like common skeletons, skeletal champions are quick and nimble, their bones are hard and durable, and cold does them no harm. Furthermore, they are resistant to positive energy channeled by clerics and paladins.1

Variants

Skeletal mages are skeletal champions who used to be spellcasters in life, and retain this ability in undeath. They can cast spells without making a sound, and only arise under rare conditions or through obscure occult rituals.2
