Talk:Anastasia Nikolaevna
Page Name
I am unsure this page is named correctly, as the form 'Anastasia Nikolaevna' never appears in Paizo that I can find; though, it is the name used on Wikipedia. I am not changing it as: it is not wrong per se, and it is heavily linked; but, instead, have made redirects and comments in the text. --Fleanetha (talk) 12:52, 25 July 2020 (UTC)
- We can put this to rest as she's referred to as "Anastasia Nikolaevna Romanov" in a Pathfinder Society Scenario 2-08--Amwari (talk) 04:09, 31 January 2021 (UTC)
Tsar and tsarina
On 20 November 2024, User:Zimmerwald1915 made changes to the text with the following explanation:
- "Tsar" and "Tsarina" were titles long superseded by the Imperial title by 1918; likewise, the name of the state had long since changed from the Tsardom of Russia to the Russian Empire. I think it's important to recognize the imperial nature of the state (concomitant with its role as a prison-house of nations) here.
I am not an historian, and a quick search suggests this is not wrong. Certainly 'Russian Empire' is preferred to 'Russia'. However, I quibble the total removal of tsar and tsarina as 1. they were commonly used at the time in the real world; 2. they are used in the Rasputin Must Die! exclusively.
Evidence for 1. is only Wikipedia: The old title tsar (or tsaritsa) continued to be popularly used to refer to the emperor (or empress) until the monarchy was abolished in 1917. However, point 2 is more relevant for the PathfinderWiki. To avoid confusion, I have added references to the text to bring back the tsarist language, which I hope User:Zimmerwald1915 feels is satisfactory and fair. --Fleanetha (talk) 20:06, 25 November 2024 (UTC)
Oh, amply so.--Zimmerwald1915 (talk)
