discrepancies

the original blog post in august 2019 https://paizo.com/community/blog/v5748dyo6sgw9 indicated "more than 350 new monsters..." and that it would be released in april 2020.

the update in may 2020 https://paizo.com/community/blog/v5748dyo6sh84 changes this to May 27 2020 for release and the text to "more than 300 menacing monsters..."

While I don't currently own a copy, the AON source page as well as the art on the updated blog post which includes the table of contents indicates fewer than 350 monsters (335 if the dragon entries are each split in 3 for age categories as is done on the B2 table of contents or 325 if they are rolled up to one entry per dragon species).

this begs the question of which text should be used for the description quote - the original or the updated (or a hybrid though that seems less in keeping with the style of the wiki)

finally, four creature names currently do not match the entries in the sources to which I have access -

current wiki text paizo/AON source
Anacus (elephant) (116) Anancus
Blizardborn (water elemental) (115) Blizzardborn
Spectre (248) Specter
Vespercham (279) Vaspercham

I'm a bit reluctant to make a change without access to the source book - plus I feel like Spectre/Specter is likely going to result in a slightly bigger issue. 77stephen (talk) 20:35, 26 August 2020 (UTC)

Thanks for checking this 77 Stephen. I have the book and the back text is as follows, and maybe we should go with this:

More Monsters, More Mayhem!

More than 300 menacing monsters and fearsome foes await within this compendium of creatures from the world of Pathfinder! From classic adversaries like giants, dragons, and the jabberwock to potential allies and servants suitable for summoners of every alignment, this must-have expansion to the Pathfinder Bestiary seethes with enemies to challenge characters of any level.

Within the book,
  • anacus does not appear; anancus does.
  • blizardborn does not appear; blizzardborn does.
  • 'spectre' is just an English word. A quick review shows 'spectre' is by far the most often used spelling on this wiki and I just added a redirect to save you dabbling in bigger issues.
  • vespercham does not appear; vaspercham does.
Those three are simple typos then and need changing to the emboldened text. Good spot. --Fleanetha (talk) 13:57, 27 August 2020 (UTC)
