Abyssal

Prior to the Pathfinder Second Edition Remaster Project, the common language of the Abyss was known as Abyssal. The Remaster renamed the Abyss to the Outer Rifts and retroactively renamed its common tongue to Chthonian.

This change was not explicitly stated in the texts of Player Core and GM Core, which implicitly replaced references to Abyssal with Chthonian. James Jacobs confirmed that Chthonian retroactively replaced Abyssal in a Paizo forums post.¹ -Oznogon (talk) 20:38, 19 November 2023 (UTC)
