Incoming canon changes
In Monster Core and the Pathfinder Second Edition Remaster Project, oni and rakshasas will no longer be fiends. This will affect oni-spawn and rakshasa-spawn at a later date. As of today the exact ramifications of this for these heritages are unknown, per James Jacobs. -Oznogon (talk) 19:10, 2 February 2024 (UTC)
- Per a recent livestream about the Tian Xia Character Guide, oni-spawn will primarily be referred to as hungerseed going forward, will not be nephilim planar scions, and will instead be a standalone versatile heritage.

- (The hungerseed) is not part of the nephilim versatile heritage because oni are no longer fiends, and so the hungerseed versatile heritage is its own separate versatile heritage.
