Population

The Inner Sea World Guide 114 and Lost Omens World Guide 60 both list the population of Ilizmagorti as 20,500. As the highest-tier sources, this number should be used in the article's infobox.

However, both Cities of Golarion inside front cover and Prey for Death 92 list the population as 10,500. No explanation for the discrepancy is provided, and it is unclear whether this is a (very strange) canon development, an error in the Inner Sea World Guide unintentionally propagated to the Lost Omens World Guide (or the same issue between Cities and Prey), or a retroactive change.

The wiki article technically breaks policy by using the number from Prey for Death, which is the most detailed source and consistent with the detailed article in Cities of Golarion. Despite being higher tier, and despite there being highly implausible but technically possible canon explanations for its population increasing and falling by exactly 10,000 over the years, it seems more likely that the World Guides' passing mentions of its population are in error and the more detailed sources are correct. -Oznogon (talk) 16:35, 2 August 2024 (UTC)
