Talk:Strix
CR [completed]
Is the CR for a Strix really 1/3? The example given in the book is for a strix with 1 level of an NPC class. That would put it at CR 1/3 just for the character level. I believe there is no racial CR for the Strix, but rather that CR is determined by character level, the same way a human, elf or halfling's is. -- yoda8myhead 04:50, September 30, 2009 (UTC)
- It seems that this is the case. Take a look at p. 398 in the Pathfinder rules. It states: A creature that only possesses non-player class levels (and only has 1 racial HD) is factored in as a creature with a CR equal to its class levels -2. If this reduction would reduce a creature's CR to below 1, its CR drops one step on the following progression: 1/2, 1/3, 1/4, 1/6, 1/8. --brandingopportunity 15:33, September 30, 2009 (UTC)
- The Bastards of Erebus lists it as CR 1/3, which is what a humanoid 1st-level warrior would normally be. It doesn't really have any unusual powers aside from a fly speed with only average maneuverability; darkvision, low-light vision, and hatred are in tune with the core races in power. --Goblin Witchlord 19:17, September 30, 2009 (UTC)
- Right. I'll change this one to show CR by class level. -- yoda8myhead 21:47, September 30, 2009 (UTC)
