Talk:Timeline of Andoran

From PathfinderWiki

Good idea for an article

I like the idea for articles like this for all the countries that can then be linked back to the main article on the country. I was thinking what might help this would be if we added appropriate Nation categories to the year articles (Andoran, Cheliax ,etc). That way, you could see what years dealt with historic occurrences in which countries, and add them to the "Timeline for Blank" article. Does that make sense, or would that end up making the year articles too cluttered? --brandingopportunity 05:55, September 19, 2010 (UTC)

Something like that would certainly be helpful, and would only clutter the categories on the year pages, but some events might not clearly be tied to one nation, and I think the less judgment calls we ask chroniclers to make, and the more we avoid gray areas, the better. — yoda8myhead 23:52, September 19, 2010 (UTC)
If each event of a given year were to have its own article, it would probably be beneficial to add them to categories for those nations involved. This is a concept that would not be new to the project; when an event is significant enough to have its own article, it is already added to such categories. However, generally speaking the year articles can contain events that occurred in any number of regions, and in some cases different planets and/or planes of existence.
The year articles themselves have no direct correlation to any individual nation, and as such I don't think they should be included within a nation-specific category. -- Heaven's Agent 20:01, September 22, 2010 (UTC)
