Teleportation mishap

From PathfinderWiki

A teleportation mishap is sometimes the result of a failed or disrupted teleportation attempt. A mishap most commonly causes a painful injury, but mishaps can also lead to unexpected destinations for those being teleported.123

Causes

Magical teleportation, such as the teleport spell, often requires the spellcaster to identify the destination by its position and appearance in order to teleport to it. Incorrect knowledge of the destination's appearance usually causes the spell to fail,23 but could instead lead to a teleportation mishap.1

In addition to pain or injury, a teleportation mishap can result in a spellblight curse,4[citation needed] or can transform a particularly powerful spellcaster into an amalgamite in unfortunate cases.5
