Barasthaga the Blessed Minion is a devourer bearing the essence of the thanadaemon Thanatessim the Ash-Tongued, who retains some abilities from its daemonic heritage.1

Appearance

Barasthaga's form drips with icy liquid, and tormented, drowned souls can be seen within its chest.1

Associates

No sane creature can claim to have allied with Barasthaga, but it occasionally and randomly whispers incomprehensible secrets to a victim before releasing it. Barasthaga calls this practice walking the path that's yet to come.1

Background

In the Drowning Court of Abaddon, the thanadaemon Thanatessim once overestimated his power and challenged a stronger rival. After his defeat, unwilling to risk destruction at the hand of the rival or their master Charon, he fled. Knowing that no place would be distant enough, he gathered all the power and knowledge he learnt in Charon's service, to flee beyond the Great Beyond.1

Thanatessim never returned, but a while later, the devourer Barasthaga came back, bearing a portion of his essence. It first came to the Drowning Court, only to be driven away by its former peers. Unfazed, Barasthaga began walking the Great Beyond, feeding as chance allows and communing with unheard voices. It visited Golarion a few times, always fleeing when confronted by stronger foes.1
