Tichaim is a village of damned souls and trapped travelers on Cocytus, where the crude and slipshod construction does little to shelter the residents from the unceasing cold of the seventh layer of Hell. Despite the harshness of the weather, the villagers eke out a mostly peaceful existence, though they remain constantly in fear of a nearby camp of cornugons. Each year, the horned devils march into town and demand a sacrifice of a single soul. Should the village not have decided on one, ten are taken instead.1
