Vast Scar

The Vast Scar is a dark pit carved through the center of Yad Iagnoth by Rovagug on the Rough Beast's passage out of the Outer Rifts and into the Great Beyond. The pit is the same size as the Pit of Gormuz, which it predates by aeons, and is large enough that one cannot see the opposite side from any point of its edge, and its darkness exudes a nearly sentient nature that entrances those who view it.

The Vast Scar's similarities to the Pit of Gormuz and its hypnotic nature has led to numerous theories on the cause, many of them blasphemous. The most controversial suggest that when Sarenrae opened the Pit of Gormuz, she might have done so under an influence not her own.
