Answering to no deity or government, the Veils is an independent organization of mages isolating and protecting secrets, technologies, and artifacts they have designated too dangerous to leave unchecked. Entire magics are rumored to have been expunged from reality by Veil mages.1
Structure
The Veils's hoards are kept away from civilization in hidden vaults within the Valashmai Jungle. Membership can be achieved by applying at one of the ateliers distributed throughout most cities, where acceptance or rejection occurs instantaneously based on prior observation.1
Relations
The Lantern Lodge's unrestrained pursuit of knowledge frequently brings them under the Veils's crosshairs. Multiple Lantern Lodge agents have been assassinated by the Veils.2
