Anglemire was a coastal town in Cheliax and stronghold of House Davian until their defeat during the Chelaxian Civil War. House Thrune, who had defeated House Davian's forces at the nearby city of Corentyn in the Battle of a Hundred Kings in 4639 AR, then starved House Davian's nobles to death in a year-long siege of the town's keep of Emberhold, torched the keep, and withdrew all support for the town. Its surviving residents persisted until orcs, trolls, and other dangers drove them away, leaving the town an abandoned ruin of stone structures.
