Baifen serves as a central gathering place for the various small Tapestry People communities within the lands of the Szaezan Crags leased by Hao Jin. The day-to-day running of the town is done collectively by about a hundred families.

Baifen is a popular holiday destination because of its many attractions, such as public theater performances, hot spring bathhouses, and night markets filled with delicious foods. Historians and adventurers are also attracted to the area, with the hope that one of the Tapestry People can help solve ancient riddles or provide otherwise lost historical knowledge.
