The Bandu Fleet are a group of exiled hobgoblins who roam the high seas and offer their services as naval mercenaries to those who can afford them.1

History

The Bandu Fleet was formed in the wake of the Vidric Revolution. At the start of the revolutionary war, the hobgoblins of the Bandu Hills threw their lot in with the government of the former nation of Sargava. Imagining an easy victory alongside the Shackles Pirates, the Sargavan government's other opportunistic allies, it slowly became apparent to the hobgoblins that this was not the case.1

As the tide of war turned against the government and the Free Captains, their hobgoblin allies came to realise that trying to return home to the Bandu Hills would not only invite death but also retribution against their kin. Seizing any opportunity in the chaos of the final days of the war, the hobgoblins stole a fleet of ships from the Free Captains and took to sea, where they have since served as ship-bound mercenaries known as the Bandu Fleet.1

Organization

The Bandu Fleet functions as a mercenary navy for hire, willing to work for or with anyone who can pay them or provide them with the resources that they need, and have adapted well to their nautical lifestyle. The hobgoblins of the Bandu Fleet have begun recruiting non-hobgoblin crew members out of necessity, resulting in their being much more used to socializing with other races than most hobgoblins cultures. Despite stealing their ships from the Free Captains, the Bandu Fleet has now become an accepted part of the Shackles' ruthless pirate ecosystem.1
