Request for merge

Every article and category in this category refers to an intelligent magic item. Category:Intelligent magic items contains items of the same type. The categories are redundant. Category:Intelligent magic items is older, more specific, and descriptive; Category:Intelligent items is an automatically generated category when the "Intelligent" {{2eTrait}} is applied.

I support merging this category's contents into Category:Intelligent magic items and modifying {{2eTrait/AutoCategory}} to categorize the "Intelligent" 2eTrait value into Category:Intelligent magic items. The 2eTrait templates are protected, so an administrator would need to implement the change.

I would not oppose merging in the other direction, but the magic item context built into the existing category name would be lost. If there are 2E items that are intelligent but not magic I'd reconsider, but I don't know of and couldn't find any in a cursory search of intelligent items in the 2E products I have. -Oznogon (talk) 00:47, 19 October 2023 (UTC)

2E Secrets of Magic includes the ritual spell awaken object, which can create sapient objects and explicitly does not work on magic items, so it's possible to create an item that is intelligent and involves magic but is not mechanically an intelligent magic item.
