Counteflora
Countefloras are mobile, aggressive plants that resemble giant dandelions.1
Appearance
Besides their size, they are distinguished from smaller dandelions by their black flowers and patterned bracts.1
Ecology
Countefloras are sustained via photosynthesis, and contrary to popular belief do not directly consume living creatures. However, they nonetheless attempt to kill nearby creatures by beating them with their closed flowerheads and by releasing clouds of toxic seeds. The decaying bodies from these killings fertilize the surrounding ground in support of counteflora seedpods.1
Countefloras possess a form of intelligence, and can communicate and coordinate their actions through airborne pheromones. Countefloras typically grow next to each other and can form large fields, but a lone specimen may ally with other creatures if it is offered water or fertile soil.1
Countefloras go dormant and shrivel somewhat during the winter months.1
