This article covers the Pathfinder Second Edition class archetype. For other uses of the term "elementalist", including additional edition-specific options, see elementalism (disambiguation).

Elementalists are spellcasters who revere the elements as the building blocks of life. They discard traditional magic theory to focus on harnessing, manipulating, and shaping elemental forces.12

Elementalists adhere to either the four-element cycle of air, earth, fire, and water prevalent inthe Inner Sea region, or the five-element cycle of earth, fire, metal, water, and wood dominant in Tian Xia, and some further specialize in one element over others. Their dedication to their pursuits allows them to eschew the boundaries between magical traditions, at the cost of a more limited purview of spells.12

Elementalists have access to special focus spells depending on their elemental attunements. They are also able to infuse elemental power into their familiars, redirect spells of the same element they are attuned to, or absorb energy from elemental spells targeting them.12
