The gaseous form spell allows the caster to assume an insubstantial, translucent, misty form that is immune to all but magical attacks. While in this state, the caster cannot cast spells with verbal, somatic, or material components, but can fly, and easily pass through small cracks and holes. The caster also cannot use items she had previously been holding, and can be checked by wind.2

Material component

The material component for this spell is a bit of gauze and a wisp of smoke.2

Creatures with gaseous form

Vampires and vampire spawn can assume an insubstantial form identical to the gaseous form spell.3
