An infestation is a type of disease caused by parasites, rather than the usual forms of disease. They require special means to cure and can be contracted by those normally immune to disease (including androids). though undead creatures and other non-living creatures remain immune. Normal magical means of curing diseases are still effective against parasites.

Numerous forms of parasite exist, including:

• ear seekers
• harmful nanites
• rot grubs
• scarab beetles
