Stinger-tailed scorpions are vermin that can be found in many different sizes, variations, and environments, from tiny insects to colossal beasts.

Lashtail scorpion

Lashtail scorpions commonly measure over six inches long. They are known to be aggressive and hard to kill, and are sometimes used as familiars.2

Creatures resembling scorpions

A number of creatures have scorpion-like features:

The demon lord Aldinach often takes the form is of a golden scorpion the size of a house, with a human head beneath her carapace.10

The herald of Norgorber, the Stabbing Beast, is an enormous, black scorpion-like creature.11 Gharros demons are demons that strongly resemble large scorpions.12

The demon lord Pazuzu,13 imps,14 and the dog-like Dhabba all have scorpion-like tails.15

The kaiju Bezravnis resembles a colossal, fire-red scorpion with three tails.16

Ghalshoatan devils have scorpion-like claws and tail.17

The powerful vemerak has scorpion-like pincers.18

A girtablilu, which has a scorpion abdomen and humanoid torso.

The girtablilus have humanoid torsos but scorpion features from the waist down, including a large tail, and have a strong empathy for scorpions.19

Abilities

Most scorpions are venomous. Large scorpion venom is an example of a potent scorpion poison that can be applied via wounds.20

On Golarion

The Al'Chorhaiv tribe of gnolls lives in the Brazen Peaks and has countless scorpion "pets".21

In culture

There is a Scorpion Coast in Osirion.22

The River Scorpion flows through the city of Katapesh. One of the shops in the city's bazaar is known as The Scorpion's Sting.23 Malthus Feyhew, a Katapeshi armourer at the nearby Gilded Shell, supplies many unusual types of armour, including some made from giant scorpion shells.24

In religion

The demon lord Aldinach is the deity of sand, thirst, and scorpions. Her worship is not common in Golarion, and is concentrated in the desert areas of Katapesh, Osirion, and central Casmaron.10

In addition, scorpions are also the sacred animals of the deities Rovagug,25 and Selket.26

Arts and crafts

The Vudrani bich'hwa is a bladed weapon sometimes known as the scorpion's tail.27

Drow sometimes include scorpion parts as part of their fleshwarping arts.28

The Scorpion Pincer fighting style is native to Tian Xia.29
