Meredel is a tree-choked city hidden in the Koracep Forest, in the southeastern Drakelands of Triaxus. Its ruler, the green dragon Aeomak, is a purveyor of knowledge willing to pay extravagant prices to invite scholars, both humanoid and dragon, to work at his libraries and universities. However, Aeomak refuses to let knowledge escape, and these scholars (whom he collectively call his 'hoard') are never allowed to leave Meredel until death except when ordered by Aeomak. The city's outer walls are painted with colourful murals and frescoes depicting the horrible fate of those who tried to escape.
