Montagnie Crowl is the professor of antiquities at the University of Lepidstadt. He was on good terms with his erstwhile colleague, Petros Lorrimor, until Lorrimor's death in 4711 AR. Indeed, in Petros' will was a request that some of his more evil-associated books be taken to Crowl after his death for safe keeping, as Petros clearly trusted his old university colleague.[1][2]
