Rawheads are secretive monstrous humanoids who stir terror in others and are spoken of mostly in cautionary childhood tales about the ghastly bloody bones that they create.12

Appearance

A typical rawhead is nearly seven feet tall, weighs 200 pounds, and has long, lanky arms. It has a pale ridged head, and the index fingers on each of its hands forms an elongated, curling, boneless tentacle.1

Abilities

The most well-known ability of a rawhead is its creation of undead bloody bones from helpless living humanoids. In a matter of seconds, it can impale a humanoid with its tentacular finger, grip the victim's skeleton, and rip it free from its body. If successful, the skeleton immediately animates as a new bloody bones.1

Rawheads can also swiftly traverse across land and tread through the air as if it were solid ground. They have magical powers of divination and can command undead creatures, including their bloody bones creations. They also can terrify nearby creatures even if they have yet to reveal themselves, and can speak Aklo, Chthonian, and Diabolic in addition to Taldane.1

Ecology

Rawheads work alone and are joined only by their created bloody bones. A group of a rawhead and bloody bones is called a terror.1

On Golarion

Rawheads inhabit the Fangwood and were recruited by the Ironfang Legion in 4717 AR as scouts and guerilla fighters against both Molthune and Nirmathas.3
