Reincarnate is a ritual that can reincarnate the soul of a deceased mortal into a new body.12

The ritual requires a part of the deceased mortal's remains, and an amount of rare herbs worth a value proportional to the mortal's power. It can restore life to a soul only if it has not been judged by Pharasma, and only if the soul wishes to return.2

The most basic form of the ritual can reincarnate the soul if less than a week has passed since their death. More powerful versions can extend that limit to up to a decade.3

In such a ritual, the reincarnated soul typically assumes a new form of a random sapient ancestry but retains the knowledge and talents accumulated from its mortal life. While a failed reincarnation typically accomplishes nothing, a particularly thorough failure can instead reincarnate the soul into the body of an unintelligent animal.2
