Talk:Beacon of the North/Conflicts
Properties
In The Frozen Fingers of Midnight 9, the Beacon of the North has a faint illusion aura and is CL 3rd. In Lost Treasures 19, it has a strong conjuration aura and is CL 17th. PathfinderWiki uses the properties from Lost Treasures, a newer source of equal canon tier.
Several abilities of the Beacon differ between the two statblocks, particularly the type of undead created by the lantern and attunement requirements that appear only in The Frozen Fingers of Midnight. -Oznogon (talk) 16:54, 9 January 2025 (UTC)
- Seems valid. The attunement requirement is important in Frozen Fingers of Midnight because the Bengeirr Haldyrsson takes the lantern to *his* ship, and questions arise as to (a) why doesn't Bengeirr teleport away, and (b) what happens if the players try to hang the lantern from Bengeirr's ship (as my players did) - a Pathfinder Society one-shot could have quickly turned into an extensive campaign in Irrisen. But Lost Treasures is indeed the most recent source. - GregT 314 (talk) 23:01, 9 January 2025 (UTC)
