Talk:Horizon walker

Linking to d20pfsrd [RESOLVED]

You can find the Horizon Walker here:

http://www.d20pfsrd.com/classes/prestige-classes/horizon-walker

Has there been any thought to getting together with the owner of d20pfsrd and figuring out who should do what?

It's pretty clear that d20pfsrd does rules, while Pathfinder Wiki does Campaign information. With some collaboration, the two sites could be linked to each other at many relevant places, such as this page (Horizon Walker prestige class). The result would be a better experience for all the users who are playing Pathfinder in Golarion.

Mike brings up a good point. For crunchy stuff like this, should we put links to where you could find details (the prd, or d20pfsrd)? I'm inclined to say yes unless somebody can come up with a scenario where it might be harmful. —aeakett 16:34, August 31, 2010 (UTC)
I would agree as well. An "External links" section at the bottom of such articles, just above the references section, could facilitate this nicely. It keeps the crunchy bits where they should be, and allows us to provide such information to our users without actually including it in our project. I added such a link to this article as an example. -- Heaven's Agent 16:40, August 31, 2010 (UTC)
Nice. I think this is a reasonable solution. Can we agree that we should prefer links to the PRD if they exist (which it doesn't (yet (I think)))? —aeakett 16:47, August 31, 2010 (UTC)
I say support both of those sources, when they're available. Everyone has their own preference over which of the two to use, and who are we to say one is better than the other. Ultimately, it's only two external links per article; the content shouldn't be overwhelmed, at least not once we get a given article completed.
That said, as it is an official source I would like to include the link to the PRD first, followed by that to d20pfsrd, whenever possible. Call it a basic courtesy; it's not something to let ourselves get hung up on, but it just seems like the proper order of operations, if you'll forgive the reference from a math teacher in training. -- Heaven's Agent 17:24, August 31, 2010 (UTC)
Agreed, but does this mean someone should be going through all of the monsters and add external links to them? -- Cpt kirstov 20:08, August 31, 2010 (UTC)
Someone can if they'd like, but I think it's probably something we can just add as we make regular edits. -- Heaven's Agent 20:22, August 31, 2010 (UTC)
Back to PRD and d20pfsrd: Yeah, courtesy was what I was going for. I suppose listing both with the PRD first is good too. —aeakett 22:59, August 31, 2010 (UTC)
In the eight years since, the link stopped working, the PrC was posted to the official PRD, the official PRD was discontinued and moved, linking to PRDs never caught on in the wiki, and nobody unstubbed this article. I've removed the link. -Oznogon (talk) 01:12, 16 November 2018 (UTC)

Image [RESOLVED]

Was there a reference I missed for using File:Archer.jpg? She's an archer from the GMG with no mention of horizon walkers, and this art isn't used in the prestige class description in the APG or particularly relevant to its theme of exploration. We also have articles for Ojan and Jasilia, both canon horizon walkers with art that fits better here. —Oznogon (talk) 18:24, 30 March 2015 (UTC)
