Talk:Microregion

Merge (resolved)

As I have noticed from World Guide and Travel Guide, with the exception of the Mwangi Expanse, there is very little information on each microregion that is not specific to an individual country. As it currently stands, the existing Eye of Dread and Golden Road articles each literally only has one single sentence (with the latter only listing the countries in the region, and the former also describing Tar-Baphon's influence). I don't think that individual microregions need their own articles; the relevant information is short enough to be included directly in this article. In case of Absalom and the Starstone Isles and the Mwangi Expanse, I also see no reason that the former needs its own article separate from Starstone Isles (which covers the exact same geographical extent), or that the Mwangi Expanse (an established in-world term) needs a separate article from the Mwangi Expanse (a meta-region which covers the same area). - HTD (talk) 01:47, 18 October 2022 (UTC)

Disagree, mostly because the Travel Guide implies that these are in-world terms of use. Also looks like they're going to be getting around to the various regions with their own books eventually. Beyond that, materials from existing publications can be used to flesh out these articles if someone feels like doing some pretty dedicated work. CadeHerrig (talk) 08:20, 28 October 2022 (UTC)
That wasn't what I was trying to say. Rather, the information on each region as a whole (and not exclusive to an individual country or two) can simply be collected on this article (in fact, I already did so with the available information from the two aforementioned two books). At best, it can probably be expanded to one paragraph per region, which again can be integrated to this article. Not every single in-world proper term needs its own article (as opposed to being part of a larger one) on this wiki. - HTD (talk) 08:50, 1 November 2022 (UTC)
Merge carried out. I think I have also collected as much relevant material as possible on this article (for now). - HTD (talk) 13:39, 15 November 2022 (UTC)
and undone, as it was not a merge but yet another deletion exercise. Seeing the alternative, however, I am now convinced that I also disagree with the idea and agree with Cade's well-argued position above. --Fleanetha (talk) 13:47, 26 November 2022 (UTC)
