Position

Published sources conflict on the position of Niswan relative to the Obari Ocean.

• The city map on Cult of the Ebon Destroyers 31 depicts Niswan on a western-facing shoreline.
• The city map on Impossible Lands 200 depicts Niswan on a southern-facing shoreline.

Both maps use nearly identical geometry and scale to depict Niswan, but the compass rose in Impossible Lands is rotated 90 degrees clockwise relative to the compass rose on Cult of the Ebon Destroyers.

Positions of Niswan relative to Jalmeray also conflict:

• The map of Jalmeray on Impossible Lands 181 places Niswan on the island's western shore, consistent with Cult of the Ebon Destroyers and in conflict with Impossible Lands 200. This position and facing is consistent with The Inner Sea World Guide 7, World Guide 73, and the locator maps on The Crocodile's Smile 3 and Beneath Unbroken Waves 3.
• The locator map of Niswan on The Rakshasa's Court 3 places Niswan north of its Impossible Lands and World Guide position, on a south-facing shore.
• The locator map of Niswan on Unforgiving Fire places Niswan south of its Impossible Lands and World Guide position, on a northwest-facing shore. This position is consistent with both sides of the World Guide poster map.

The wiki uses the position from Impossible Lands 181/World Guide 73 as it is the most consistent position across major sources. However, this means the city's facing must be consistent with the older, lower-tier Cult of the Ebon Destroyers.
