Infobox
I tried to increase the nation block, so it included languages and religion, but nothing has happened. Am I doing it wrong, or is it not that simple (for instance, is the block of limited size)?--Amethal2 19:07, 9 July 2009 (UTC)
- If you mean the {{Nation}} infobox, these are templates that have predefined elements. Check the usage section of the template page itself for a listing of optional (and required) pieces of information. The purpose of an infobox is to give a few vital facts in one, standardized, easy-to-find location for similar types of articles. Everything in an infobox should also be stated (and cited) in the body of an article, and other facts shouldn't be left out of the body simply because there's no spot for them in an info box. Religious information could go either in a religion heading or under inhabitants depending how extensively you were writing on the subject, while languages would almost certainly go under inhabitants. -- yoda8myhead 19:42, 9 July 2009 (UTC)
Section Stubs
Where did all those section stub templates come from? I'm at a loss to figure out what additional information is needed about Languages, for example.--Amethal2 22:39, 28 April 2011 (UTC)
- They should probably be incorporated into paragraphs instead of a whole heading for a list of a handful of items with no context.—Yoda8myhead 22:53, 28 April 2011 (UTC)
- That seems to me like a difference of opinion about layout. If someone doesn't like the layout, then surely the correct approach is to amend it rather than say the section is incomplete? If someone doesn't like
Languages
and would prefer
The main languages of the Shackles are Common and Polyglot.
Then they should make the change. Every entry has "may be ... edited mercilessly" at the bottom of it. Sectstub is not the answer.--Amethal2 00:56, 29 April 2011 (UTC)
- Since both languages and religions in the context of an article on an entire country don't require a lot of additional text, I've created entries for both in the {{Nation}} infobox. Brandingopportunity 18:55, 1 May 2011 (UTC)
- That's a great idea, thank you!--Amethal2 20:09, 1 May 2011 (UTC)
