The Teacher by the Tree is a manu manasaputra who has been sitting still beneath an ancient oak tree in the northwestern quarter of Heaven's Shore for centuries, providing insight and encouragement to those who seek his counsel. Some ancient residents of the city suggest that he spent his final reincarnated lifetime in Heaven's Shore and later returned to help others reach enlightenment. However, the resident archons and angels are unhappy at how the Teacher encourages mortals to pursue reincarnation instead of following their paths, and some wonder how long it will be before he becomes persona non grata in Heaven's Shore.
