Tar-Baphon, the Whispering Tyrant, kills Arazni during the Shining Crusade.

• The Empire of Taldor recalls soldiers from across their realm and marches against the Whispering Tyrant of Ustalav, starting a war known as the Shining Crusade that would last for more than 70 years.
  • The dwarves of Kraggodan ally with the Shining Crusade against the forces of the Whispering Tyrant and fight valiantly to aid the victory.
  • The lich Geir completes his translation of the Necronomicon from Greek to Necril and destroys the Greek copy. He is ambushed by paladins of the Shining Crusade and killed. Crusaders send the Necronomicon to Zimar for study.
